Our U-BEACH Introduction to Beach Accessibility micro-credential is a world-first safe beach accessibility course. 

The course is co-designed by physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and people with lived experience. It features real-world learning activities that explore disability diversity and highlight the importance of equal beach access for everyone.

The course has 10 evidence-based modules to support safe beach access and use of widely available beach mobility aids. Modules cover essential topics  such as accessible beach elements, communication, safety considerations, manual handling for beach access, and the safe use of widely available beach mobility equipment (e.g., beach pathways, sand-adapted walking aids, and beach wheelchairs). The course is a 4-hour learning package, but being modular, it can be completed at your own pace in convient blocks of time. 

Offering benefits for certification and CPD, we strongly encourage surf life savers, disability support workers and carers, health professionals, community groups, councils looking to improve beach accessibility, and toruism operators seeeking to provide inclusive experiences for visitors with disability to consider the course. 

Completion also includes a digital badge that can be shared on social networks and added to professional portfolios.
